At the 50th Hungarian Indoor Athletics Championships, held on 17-18 February at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre in Nyíregyháza, Gréta Kerekes won the gold medal in the women's 60m hurdles (7.96), ahead of her Debrecen clubmate Luca Kozák, who finished as silver medallist (8.01). The bronze medal went to Anna Tóth (8.05), setting the U23 Hungarian record.
Hurdler Gréta Kerekes is aiming to finish as high as possible at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow next Friday to Sunday, but she also has her sights set on the Paris Olympics.

Kerekes will be looking to add to his 60m hurdles performance at the World Championships, and after that he will be fully focused on the outdoor events and the 100m hurdles, and he is also looking to achieve an Olympic standard time of 12.77 seconds, although he has pointed out that this is not an easy feat to achieve. The three-time outdoor and seven-time indoor Hungarian champion has a personal best of 12.92 seconds, but he says his technique has improved and his coach agrees that he may have the movement to break the outdoor record and set a new personal best.
Kerekes said he used to be scattered but now feels he is mentally ready for the hurdles, and noted that he is motivated by Luca Kozák and his success.
