During the competition at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre, three new national records were set.
The first record was set in the short track women's 4x400m relay, where Lili Brucker, Petra Lalik, Zselyke Felber and Petra Besenyődi improved the previous record of 3:50.79 set in 2016 by more than five seconds with a time of 3:45.38. Their run was spirited and they won with confidence.
Shortly afterwards, Alexa Sulyán also made history as she broke her own U23 record from last year in the 200m with a time of 23.65 seconds. The MATE-GEAC sprinter was in excellent form, finishing 64 hundredths of a second ahead. "I'm very happy with the time result and the fact that I managed to beat my record. I am feeling stronger every day and I will try to improve this time in the adult final", said Alexa Sulyán after the race.
The third national record was achieved by Sára Derdák in the 1500m with a time of 4:22.73 minutes. Interestingly, as with her 3000m record the previous week, she was also pressed by her club mate and training partner Gréta Varga, who eventually finished in second place. The previous record was 4:24.00, which was broken by nearly one and a half seconds.
Once again, the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre proved that it is a worthy venue for the top performances of domestic indoor athletics. Hundreds of competitors took part in the event, and the high quality of the competition contributed to the record-breaking results.
