The mayor of Nyíregyháza City, personally got to know the world of local training when he visited the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre.

Dr. Ferenc Kovács met the athletes training here, including athletes from DVTK, Gödöllő, Tatabánya and Romania.

During his tour of the Athletics Centre, the head of our city paid special attention to the fencing hall, where he also inspected the newly installed scoring device. The introduction of modern technology will help the development of athletes and make fencing competitions even more exciting. During the visit, Dr. Ferenc Kovács ceremonially presented fencer Nándor Ster with the Athlete of the Month award, recognizing the perseverance and excellence of the athletes on behalf of the city.

The mayor not only visited the fencers, but was also curious about the diversity of the different sports. He therefore also took a look at the field of badminton, where he was able to see how young people at this level are also preparing for competitions. The direct interaction and conversation gave the Mayor of Nyíregyháza the opportunity to learn about the expectations and experiences of coaches and athletes, and to express his support and pride in the city's talented athletes.

He was also reassured by the fact that the Athletics Centre is extremely popular in the local community. The Athletics Centre is not just a sports centre, it is a place where the community comes together, where healthy lifestyles and a love of sport bring people together.

Dr Ferenc Kovács' visit was therefore not just a formal event, but an opportunity for the Mayor to get personally involved in the sporting life of the city, expressing his support and pride in the local athletics community. The event gave a further boost to the Athletics Centre and its athletes, who continue to serve the city's sporting life with hard work and dedication.
