On May 7, the Nyíregyháza Athletics Center will host the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Round of the FODISZ Athletics Student Olympics. The event is organized by the National Student and Recreational Sports Association for People with Disabilities for students with intellectual disabilities and learning disabilities.

The goal of the competition is to provide students with special educational needs the opportunity to participate in sports, experience the joy of competition, and enjoy community experiences. The Student Olympics events play an important role in promoting equal opportunity, while allowing participants to demonstrate their perseverance, skill, and sportsmanship.

The Nyíregyháza round is expected to feature students from several institutions across the county, who will compete in track and field events. For years, FODISZ programs have placed special emphasis on ensuring that sports are accessible to all children and provide a sense of achievement.

The Nyíregyháza Athletics Center has recently hosted numerous student sports events, so the competition on May 7 will once again be an important milestone in the county’s student sports scene.
