On 15 April, the Kid to Athlete programme was organised by the Nyíregyháza Sports Centre at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre.
This initiative aims to teach young people the basics of athletics. It offers an opportunity for children aged 6 to 12 to learn about different aspects of athletics, such as running, jumping, throwing, and the basic techniques and movement patterns involved.
These programmes incorporate the basics of athletics into children's daily lives in a playful and interactive way. Their aim is not only to develop physical skills, but also to help children build self-confidence, participate in teamwork and promote healthy lifestyles.
The Kid to Athlete programmes are usually led by experienced coaches or athletes who help children learn about the world of athletics and basic techniques.
As Kid to Athlete programmes often offer opportunities for children who are interested in sport, these initiatives can play an important role in helping young people to find the sport that suits them best and possibly to take up athletics competitively in the future.
