With the participation of Hungary and 6 foreign countries, the Nyíregyháza Open Indoor Track and Field Competition will start on Saturday, 21 January 2023 at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre.

The competition is organised by the Nyíregyháza Sports Centre and is a preparation for the Hungarian Indoor Championships and the European Indoor Championships.

The Athletics Centre as a venue provides an excellent opportunity not only for the Hungarian competitors but also for those from neighbouring countries. The Nyíregyháza competition is the first in the MASZ calendar of preparatory competitions, and the large number of entries is due to this and the facilities provided by the track.

The number of entries sent in in advance is 385, which indicates the intention of 37 Hungarian clubs and 6 athletes from foreign countries (Slovakia, Slovenia, Denmark, Romania, Macedonia, Ukraine) to participate.

The most popular events are the running events, with 57 men and 53 women competing in the 60m flat race, as well as the 200m and 800m. In the latter event, a Hungarian record is expected in the men's race.

The competitions will start at 12.00 with the women's 60m flat, the women's weight throw and the men's long jump.
