During the conversation, it was revealed that the number 24 is significant in both of their lives, and that the athletes of the Nyíregyháza Sportcentrum can look forward to an exciting future. We were curious about their path to sport, how they work together and separately in everyday life, and what advice they have for young people who want to take up athletics.
Petra Nyisztor: Triple Jump Champion
Petra Nyisztor, national champion in the triple jump (13.25), has improved under the guidance of Béla Bakosi, athlete of the Nyíregyháza Sports Centre. Petra is a humble, disciplined, focused and sober-minded lady who was born in Debrecen and has been an athlete for 21 years - practically her whole life has been dedicated to the sport. Her studies have brought her to Nyíregyháza and her successes have been followed by the Nyíregyháza public at competitions held at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre. As a young man, he climbed the athletics ladder, trying his hand at every event up to the heptathlon, but in the end the triple jump became his love. Her determination is shown by the fact that after a serious ankle injury, she jumped at the national championships with just a month's training. Petra is now a full-time swimming instructor for the Swimming Nation Programme and has just finished her studies at the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, where she became a specialist coach in athletics, specialising in the vault. If he had not been an athlete, the athlete of a thousand faces would have chosen some kind of art, but fortunately he chose sport.
Bence Boros: Sprinter and World Championship participant
Bence Boros, sprinter, participated in the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. He is a determined, focused, determined and determined athlete who holds national championship titles, his best results being 60m (6.62) and 100m (10.40). He is currently an athlete of the Nyíregyháza Sportcentrum, also coached by Béla Bakosi. He started athletics in Szolnok, initially in high jump, but later became a sprinter after his coach at the time recognised his talent. The university brought him to Nyíregyháza, and now his life is full of sport. The taciturn but humorous young man said that the creation of the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre has turned a new page in the life of athletes. They have everything they need for the development of their athletes.
Their Common Path and the Mystique of the Number 24
They met Petra at university and also met during training sessions. Their acquaintance grew steadily, and they became closer and closer. They reached a new level during an indoor track event and have been together ever since - for more than six years now. Perhaps we didn't see any of this because the two young people know exactly where the boundaries are between work and personal life. They support and inspire each other, based on the principle of 'live and let live'. They know when to shut up, when to speak up and when to encourage each other a little. They live and play with determination and purpose. Their credo: prepare, focus on the race, if you can't, try again and again. They both live for athletics, they grew up in it, while others went for fun, they went for training. The mystique of the number 24 holds a special place in their lives: they were both born on the 24th, and 2024 is the year when their lives could change radically. It is the year that can bring them big decisions and new beginnings.
A message to young athletes
Young people who want to take up athletics are advised to do it from the heart, for themselves, and for as long as they enjoy it. If you have to go to the capital or abroad, go and achieve the greatest success of your life!
