The men's 60m flat race was particularly exciting, where Bence Boros, after a long break, proved unstoppable and won with a time of 6.91, his best of the year.
-After a break of almost 2 years (I last competed at the European Indoor Championships in March 2021), my primary goal is to get back into the races, as I missed a lot of them due to injury. I'm happy that I was finally able to compete yesterday, it felt really good to be back, although I'm not very happy with the result, I know what the factors were that influenced my time result, so I know what I need to change. - Bence Boros said after Saturday.
In the women's triple jump, Petra Nyisztor, last year's indoor and outdoor national champion, came, jumped and won, setting a new personal best of 13.11 to take first place.
- Overall, I think it was a good race. I had a good time and I am glad that a lot of people came to the Athletics Centre. I am especially happy with the result, as it is a personal best, but we see where we still need to improve and we will work on it.
In the women's 800m, Nyíregyháza's Flóra Tilki competed as a teenager in the adult 800m flat race and finished third with a new personal best.
In the men's weight throw Balázs Tóth finished second with 17.54 behind László Kovács of Ikarus BSE, who came first with 17.69.
-I am happy to start the season on home soil. It is very good that we can compete and prepare in the Athletics Centre. I think that my first race of the year was not bad. Next week I will be back in the pitching circle at the Nyíregyháza Indoor Track and Field Athletics Competition and I hope to achieve even better results.
In the 6kg weight throw, Patrik Csikos won the first place with a time of 15.30. And in the women's 3kg weight throw, Erika Hanász came third with 10.97.
On Saturday, 28 January, the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre will once again be the venue of the Nyíregyháza Open Indoor Track and Field Athletics Competition, where exciting competitions will be held.
