With the best performance on the first day, Boglárka Takács led the 50th National Indoor Athletics Championships in Nyíregyháza. In the 60m event, Boglárka not only maintained but also improved the home record she set in France last week by one hundredth of a second, winning the final in 7.20 seconds ahead of Jusztina Csóti (7.35) and Anna Bognár (7.49).
In the men's 60m, Bence Boros (6.71) took the top step of the podium, while Dániel Szabó (6.75) and Patrik Bundschu (6.83) won silver and bronze respectively.
Other highlights of the first day included Attila Molnár's 400m in 46.45 seconds and Janka Molnár's 54.14 seconds. István Palkovits and István Szögi won the 1500m individual medley with a time of 3:43.03. In the women's race, Ágnes Muszil triumphed with a time of 4:15.04.
The men's triple jump kicked off the ob, with Tibor Galambos (15.31) on the top step of the podium, while Zsombor Iván (14.96) and Martin Rivasz (14.83) took silver and bronze.
In the women's long jump, Anastasia Nguyen (648 cm) won the gold medal, while Dániel Jankovics (216 cm) triumphed in the men's high jump. In the women's pole vault, Hanga Klekner (4.45 m) was the leader.
In the men's weight throw, László Kovács (17.70 m) beat Balázs Tóth (17.66 m) by just 4 centimetres, while Violetta Veiland (16.31 m) was first in the women's event.
In the walking races, Bence Venyercsán and Rita Récsei won the men's and women's categories respectively.
A total of thirteen athletes won gold medals on the first day of the event at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre. The competitions will continue with exciting moments to come today.
