In our previous article, we took stock of our Nyíregyháza runners and their achievements. But how did our athletes perform in the individual events? Let's see who can jump the highest and the farthest, and who has the Sabolic element to throw the weight ball the farthest!
Who hasn't heard of the excellent athlete and thrower Balázs Tóth? Balázs lived up to his reputation, finishing in first place in the men's weight throw final on 27 January with his best result of the season. In second place, Patrik Csikos can't complain about his performance, followed by Tibor Szalmási in sixth place, who shot an individual best. In the women's race, Sára Szabó finished in III place, but Erika Hanász also finished in VI place in an outstanding field.
In the junior age group, Máté Renkó finished II in the men's 6kg weight throw, Gergő Treszkai was V and Patrik Takács VI.
In the 5kg weight throw, the best results of our U18 competitors in January and February were as follows. Mátyás Hegedüs came in second and Péter Tompa was third. They were followed by Milan Rehó, Bence Dajnics, Nimród Várnagy, Péter Grósz and Áron Márk Zombor.
In the boys' U16 category, Gergő Károly Oláh and Huba Gergely pushed the 4 kg ball to the 3rd place, Rajmond Kovács to the 4th and Dániel Zsombor Bálint to the 6th place.
In the U18 women's 3 kg weight throw, there were also amazing results. Doroti Balogh Leticia Doroti could stand on the top step of the podium with the best throw of her season, next to her Panna Pekola took the III place with her personal best. We would not believe it if we didn't see what the U16 girls are capable of. Rózsa Hegedűs in 1st place, Lujza Zsófia Lovácsi in IV place and Fruzsina Tóth in VI place.
Let's have a big jump then! That means three and five.
Anyone who has been to an athletics competition will have enjoyed the thunderous applause cheering on the long jump athletes. I am captivated by the solidarity and sportsmanship with which the audience gives itself over to this event. It's a little bit of a feeling when an athlete achieves success that we have contributed to it. Who did we applaud at the beginning of the year? Our long jumpers Judit Zorka Judit Hegedüs III, Dóra Csorba jumped into the sand to XVII place. In the men's competition, Gábor Lőw finished VIII and Ádám Zajácz XIX in January and February.
Perhaps the most demanding in terms of the vault numbers is the triple jump. We watch in amazement each time as the athletes control their momentum jump by jump. The best results were achieved by Petra Nyisztor in 1st place, Zsófia Sápi in 3rd place, Bettina Dr. Abiwu-Türk in 4th place and Panna Teremi in VIII place.
Among the junior athletes, Judit Hegedüs Zorka Hegedüs, 2nd place in the pentathlon, can be really satisfied.
In the second half of the last century, in a more fortunate part of the world, the motto of Star Trek was burned into the consciousness of a whole generation of young people: to infinity and beyond! This is what comes to mind when we see the participants in the high jump. Perhaps the only thing more frightening than that is the pole vault. The applause can be heard here too, stopping, starting and simply jumping... and the bar sometimes falls, sometimes vibrates and the most beautiful thing is when it stays in place. We admire his performance and the following questions come to mind: Is he not afraid? Does it hurt? The answer is no, because Péter Péter Bakosi got 3rd place, Regina Piros got 3rd place, Panna Hudák got VIII place in the winter preparation competitions.
All in all, we should be very proud of our Nyíregyháza athletes, who compete a little bit for us every time on the tracks of the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre.
