Athletics has always been about competition, challenge and personal achievement. The 2024 Nyíregyháza Open Indoor Championships did not disappoint, with a veritable cavalcade of stories and achievements behind the numbers.

The first big event of the year, the Nyíregyháza Open Indoor Tournament, took place on 20 January, and the first day already had some surprises in store. Attila Molnár not only set a national record, but a national record as well, and with this he has deservedly written his name into the history of athletics. The results are impressive in numerical terms: 155 individual records, 56 season's bests and 578 starts, 186 of them by foreign competitors. The participants represented a rich palette of international colours: Slovak, Romanian, Greek, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovenian athletes were able to compete.

A week later, on 27 January, the Nyíregyháza Open Indoor Track and Field Competition continued. In the women's 60m flat race, a Bosnyak national record was set and a total of 138 individual records were recorded. The diligence and determination behind the results was well reflected in a season's best of 41. Among the starters were 199 foreign athletes, including Slovak, Romanian, Greek and Bosnian athletes.

The magic of numbers continued at the 50th Hungarian Indoor Athletics Championships, which took place on 17-18 February 2024. No fewer than 4 national records were recorded, along with 52 individual records. The best result of the 26 season also proved that the competitors brought their top form to the event. With 378 starts in total, this was another unforgettable race.

The U20 U18 Hungarian Indoor Athletics Championships concluded the series, which was held on 24-25 February 2024. Here 2 more national records were set and a total of 166 individual records were recorded. The 38 season best results and 810 starts proved that the young talents represented the future of Hungarian athletics in a worthy manner.

Thus concluded the Nyíregyháza Athletics Competitions, which showcased the magic of athletics through a colourful palette of numbers and results, where the perseverance, determination and passion for the sport were the foundations of real victory. The events enriched the participants and spectators not only with numbers but also with memories, proving that athletics is truly a sport that touches the heart.
