On 19. and 20. September, the elementary and secondary school athletics skills and relay team championships organised by the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and the City of Nyíregyháza County were successfully held. The aim of the event, held at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre, was to promote athletics and decide the championship titles.

Details of the competition:
The competition was organized by the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Student Sports and Recreation Association and the Nyíregyháza City Student Sports Association. The jury was chaired by László Vas, assisted by István Hadobás as vice-president and Tiborné Tölgyesi as secretary.

Participants and rules:
The competition was open to students born between 2010 and 2013 in age groups III-IV, while those born between 2005 and 2009 in age groups V-VI. Only students born in 2010 were eligible to compete in the older age group, but were not allowed to compete in their age group. They could compete in up to three skill events and one relay.

Events:
    - Age groups III-IV: High jump, long jump, weight throw (boys: 4kg, girls: 3kg), shot put, 10x200m relay (mixed team: 5 boys and 5 girls).
    - Age Groups V-VI: High jump, long jump, weight throw (boys: 6kg, girls: 4kg), discus throw (boys: 1.75kg, girls: 1kg), javelin throw (boys: 800g, girls: 600g), relay: girls 4x800m, boys 4x1500m, and baton relay (100m, 200m, 300m, 400m).

Results and qualification:
The top three finishers in each event took home medals, while the best teams in the county and Budapest finals qualified for the qualification round. The records show that 16 teams per event qualified for the national finals, while 8 teams in the high jump were given the opportunity to continue.

Other details:
The four best results from each team were taken into account in the evaluation of the competitors' performances, with six attempts in the high jump and three in the other skills.

The rules of the Hungarian Athletics Federation ensured the successful conduct of the competition. The costs of the organisation were covered by the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg Vármegyei Diáksport és Freizeitő Egyesület and the Nyíregyházi Városi Diáksport Egyesület, with the costs of participation being borne by the competitors.
