The Nyíregyháza Athletics Centre hosted the Western and Eastern Slovak Indoor Athletics Championships on 1 and 2 February.
Western Slovakia Championship (Saturday, 1 February):
The young sprinter Štiak had an outstanding performance in the 150m flat race, coming close to the Slovak student record with a time of 18.90 seconds. There were also notable results in a number of other events, showing the promise of the next generation of Slovak athletics. Photos from the competition can be seen in the gallery.
Eastern Slovak Championships (Sunday 2 February):
Sunday's competition day featured a number of athletics events, including the 60m flat race, long jump and weight throw. This day of competition also produced some excellent footage. The results are available in detail on the official statistics page of the Slovak Athletics Federation.
Both days of competition contributed to the development of Slovak athletics and gave young talents the opportunity to compete at international level.
