Nyíregyháza hosted a spectacular competition at the 2025 Adult Weightlifting National Championships, where excellent performances were achieved from day one.

Two national records were broken at the opening, including the 216-kilogram combined result of young Botond Molnár in the men's 60-kilogram category. Among the young talents, 16-year-old Milán Gulyás also won a gold medal in the 88-kilogram field.

In the women's competition, Cintia Árva proved her form: even as the only competitor in her weight class, she delivered an outstanding performance, with a result on par with competitors in higher categories.

The most memorable moment of the final day was provided by Péter Nagy, the head of the sport: the president of the MSSZ won another Hungarian championship title in the +110 kg weight class. His 143 kg snatch and 170 kg clean and jerk resulted in a total of 313 kg, earning him the 21st championship victory of his career. Ten other national records were broken during the competition, which clearly demonstrates the strength of the field and the generational change taking place in weightlifting.

The atmosphere of the championship, the enthusiasm of the spectators, and the fierce competition between the athletes all contributed to Nyíregyháza once again hosting a memorable sporting event.
