High school students from Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County will be able to test their knowledge and strength on November 13, 2025, at the Nyíregyháza Athletics Center, where the county round of the National Military Competition (OHV) will be held.

The competition is organized by the Hungarian Armed Forces' Vitéz Antal 2nd Territorial Defense Regiment's Defense Education, Sports and Cultural Directorate.

The national defense team sports competition, consisting of county qualifiers and a national final, offers 9th-12th grade high school students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, endurance, and teamwork abilities through a variety of military-style tasks.

The Nyíregyháza Athletics Center is hosting this year's county round, where 21 high school teams, totaling about 84 students, are participating in the competition with teams of four. The young people can test their skills in several exciting and varied events, including:

  • Matrix maze running
  • Laser relay race
  • Obstacle course
  • First aid
  • Combined shooting
  • Observation, orientation, distance estimation
  • Armed relay race

The aim of the competition is to use sports and national defense education to develop students' physical endurance, sense of responsibility, cooperation skills, and patriotism. The winners of the county rounds will represent their counties in the four-day national finals to be held in Balatonakarattya in April 2026.

The teams and guests will be welcomed at the event by:

  • Dr. András Polgári, Director General of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Government Office

It is an honor for the organizers and the host institution to welcome so many students who love sports and challenges to the Center. The event is not only a competition but also a community experience that serves to promote the physical and mental development of young people and to strengthen national defense values and team spirit.
